The Dulcimer Ensemble
The idea of uniting of the pupils of her class into the ensemble “Ulybka” belongs to Larisa Levkovich who has been its head, producer and author of all the creative finds and the majority of instrumental arragements since 1995. The ensemble is unique not only because it is represented by rare and exotic instruments on which the girls play masterly and sing in three foreign languages but it is also unique – as many Italian and German newspapers write – because “many famous orchestras of the world could envy the ensemble’s repertoire which is played by heart and offered to listeners.”
The collective consists of nine girls (9-18 years of age),there are six laureates of International contests and one diploma winner among them.
The repertoire is vast (about 80 compositions) and varied: classic, sacred, Russian music, jazz and also songs and dances of the peoples of the world.
The ensemble “Ulybka” is a laureate of a few international contests and the winner of Grand-Prix in Poland in 2001.
The musicians perfomed in Russia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Germany, France, Italy and gave more than 160 concerts, and 3 CD’s were made in Germany and Italy during the time of creative work..
On December 13, 2000 the ensemble had an audience with Pope Iohann Pavel in Rome who blessed the children and wished them further creative success.
The ensemble would like to cooperate with all countries of the world and in that way to enrich and popularize our culture.
