The concert choir “The Singing Musicians”

The collective was founded by A.Mazurova on the basis of a training choir of pupils of 5—8 forms at the Republican Music college. In May 1997 the collective was awarded the title “Exemplary”. The choir fulfils great concert activities, performs in the most prestigious concert halls of Minsk, is recorded on TV and Radio. The repertoire of the choir embraces various musical styles and historical epochs, includes compositions by European, Russian and Belorussian classics: Bach, Rossini, Pergolezi, Mozart, Chaikovski, Bortnyanski and others. The choir is a highly professional collective possessing the purity of intonational harmony, the flexibility of observation of phrasing, the convincingness of interpretations. The choir possesses soft and clear sounding of children’s voices.

In 1999 at the fourth International Festival of Orthodox Canticles in Minsk the performances of the choir were marked with diplomas and awards in three nominations. In 2001 the choir won the first prize at the contest “Suzorje” (Minsk).

The concert choir “The Singing Musicians”

The uniqueness of this collective is reflected in its name “The Singing Musicians” and consists in the fact that all the participants (children aged from 11 to 15) side by side with singing in the choir are professionally taught to play various musical instruments at the college.

Everyone of the children can perform as a soloist or play in an ensemble. Many of the children are laureates and have diplomas from prestigious international competitions in Russia, Poland, France, Slovakia, Italy and other countries on the class of piano, cello, violin, bayan, dulcimer, clarinet, flute, horn etc.

Taking into account the participants’ remarkable music abilities the repertoire of the choir is selected.
