Interdepartmental Divisions
The Division Instrumentation.
(Head – Honoured Worker of Arts of the Republic of Belarus, Professor V. Kouznetsov).
The Division operates as a part of the Department since 1999
(founded in 1989). In various periods it employed the well-known Belarusian composers S. Beltsyukov, V. Domoratsky, V. Dorokhin, E. Dekhteryk, A. Zalyotnev, L. Zakhlevny, S. Kortes, V. Pomozov, V. Soltan. The Division
earlier permanently co-operated with famous specialists in the field of orchestration and arrangement – People's Artist of the Republic of
Belarus, Professor B. Penchouk and People's Artist of
Russia, Professor L. Mouranov, Assistant Professors S. Kofanov and B. Choudakov.
Currently, the Division is a highly professional pedagogical
collective. Among its leading teachers are the Honoured Worker of Arts, Professor V. Kouznetsov (Head of the Division), People's Artist of the Republic of
Belarus, Assistant Professor V. Ivanov, Honoured Worker of Arts of the Republic of

The teachers of the Division are actual carriers of the modern Belarusian school of
instrumentation, its main task being
to open the creative potentials of future conductors, art directors of artistic groups and
performers.
Philosophy
Division.
(Head of the Division – Candidate of Philosophy, Assistant Professor A. Roschupkin). The Division unites broad specialists – not only philosophers, but also historians, social scientists, economists. A considerable contribution into training of the cadre of the Division was by the Head of the Division Candidate of Philosophy, Assistant Professor A. Sankov (1960s), and also by Doctor of Philosophy, Professor A. Ladygina (1970-80s). The training plan of the Division envisages not only substantial studying of the history of the country (“Belarus in the context of world history”), but also acquaintance with the fundamentals of the economy theory, social and political science, ethics and law. Apart from philosophy and aesthetics, at the Academy they are teaching a course of musical philosophy, which allows to identify the peculiarities of reflection of the present in music, to find its place among other arts, to get acquainted with the literature in which music is a subject of investigation. The Division ensures philosophy training of masters and post-graduate students, including those who specialize in aesthetics. The profiled teaching of the disciplines of the Division is ensured through the availability of experienced teachers, keen in the specificities of a higher musical school,
among whom there are pupils of the Academy of Music (Conservatoire) A. Roschupkin, G. Dragovets, N. Stepantsova.
The Division of Musical Pedagogics, History and Theory of Performance Skills
(Head of the Division –
Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor, Academician of the International Academy of Sciences of Higher School (²ÍÅÀS) and the Belarusian Academy of Education V. Yakonyuk). An educational and scientific-methodological subdivision of such profile was established in 1978 for the first time in the practice of the higher musical school of the former USSR (Head of the Division – S. Benediktov). The opening of the Division of psychology-pedagogic direction was caused by the necessity to improve both theoretical and practical pedagogical training of future teachers of music.
In 1988 the Division was headed by
Professor V. Yakonyuk. During a decade, reformation of the training process took place, the scientific-methodical work of the Division was substantially expanded. On the basis of the sector of pedagogical practice a children musical school-studio was created (head – L. Kozlovskaya).
A significant place in the work of the Division is taken by scientific management of preparation of master’s dissertations in all
specialities. Post-graduate courses of the Division are very fruitful. The faculty of the Division has
stabilised; now it includes the eldest Candidates of Musicology,

The Division of Languages

S. Schukina). The Division is teaching the English, German, French, Italian
languages, and also the Russian language to foreign students, masters and post-graduate students. A highly professional staff of teachers has formed at the Division; among them are experienced teachers

G. Kolyada,
E. Mikhaylova
and others. The basis of scientific researches of the Division is formed by elaboration of the problems of semantic theory, structure and forms of existence of musical terminology and
musical expression marks, semantic and syntax problems in works of Belarusian
and Russian poets. The workers of the Division have designed a number of unique
test-books for students of higher musical schools. The Division is actively
co-operating with the Goethe Institute and other foreign representative offices in the Republic of Belarus. The Division is substantially contributing to development of international contacts of the Academy of Music. The teachers of the Division (S. Schukina,
Yu. Shesterova and G. Rondarevich) are active in translations for the International Section.
The Division of Physical Training

Yu. Vashkevich). The main directions of the Division are the
educational and off-hour physical-rehabilitation and sports work. Especially
popular sports among the students of the Academy are table tennis, basketball,
rhythmic and athletic gymnastics, football, volleyball, swimming and others. The
Academy of Music is holding annual students’ games, sportsmen are taking part in
the Republic's sports competitions. A significant achievement of the Division in
the sphere of scientific-methodical activities is a targeted development of the
issues of applied (health-improving) physical culture, oriented towards students
of the higher musical school. Among the teachers of the Division are Senior Teachers N. Borovskaya and P. Ivahskov.
